Deep Musings

Cole is my thoughtful, philosophical almost-third-grader.  I have enjoyed our chats this week on the long drive back and forth to VBS.  Some topics we have discussed include: immigration and racism, war, politics, and the economy (I kid you not.)
Then he went deep on me and said, "It seems to me that it is easier for a girl to make friends with a boy than it is for a boy to make friends with a girl."
Hmmmmm.....

  1. What a boy. No wonder he and Canaan get along so well. Neither of them are afraid to think deep thoughts! I do wonder though, why is it easier for a girl to make friends with a boy? Interesting thought process. I suppose the world will never know.
I can't wait to see you!

  2. Oh well, doesn't it seem like the boys are always striving to be with girls and all the girls have to do is stop running? :o)
Or, he may have speaking from his own perspective (don't we all?) and the fact that he is an introvert and finds the idea of trying to be friends with a girl a near-impossible task compared to the social skills of his super-extroverted sister.
I can't wait to see you, either! And I think Cole brings it up every 30 minutes!
